Converting elements to buttons
Looking for quickly transform checkboxes or dropdowns to buttons? We have easy methods to do so from the editor.
Bulk conversion from selection:
- Select the content you wish to convert.
- Right-click to access the context menu.
- Choose 'Convert > Selected elements to buttons'.
This action converts all selected elements (checkboxes, dropdowns, and multi-select dropdowns) into buttons, while maintaining any previously selected choice and their negative states.
Conversion of a single element:
- Right-click on the checkbox or dropdown.
- From the menu, select 'Convert > Element to button'.
Converting elements to text
When you have a long list of checkboxes you would like to convert to clickable lines, use the 'Convert elements to text' feature.
- Select the elements you wish to convert.
- Right-click to bring up the context menu.
- Choose 'Convert > Selected elements to text'.
All the elements from the selection (checkboxes, dropdowns, multi-select dropdowns, and buttons) will be converted to text. In situations where lines did not have pre-selected content, Dilato will automatically uncheck these lines to preserve the original 'unselected' state.
Converting text to buttons
For converting multiple lines of text into buttons.
- Select content (it can span many lines).
- Right-click to open the context menu.
- Choose 'Convert > Selected text to buttons'. (Alternatively, you can press the button icon in the toolbar).
Each line's content will be transformed into a button. Commas within the text will serve as separators and create a button with multiple choices.
Please be aware that buttons do not support logic. Therefore, converting fields in a template that are assigned to logic will break any associated conditional actions.
